Bright yellow fields of oilseed rape is now a very common sight across England in spring. Bees that normally travel to the nearest food source will travel up to 3 miles to dive into a field of these heavily nectar and pollen laden flowers.

All honeys will start to crystallise after a time as some of the sugars come out of solution. This is perfectly normal and the rate this happens varies with the ratio of glucose to fructose, which in turn depends upon the types of nectar which were collected. If you wish to clear a crystallising honey simply warm the open jar in a microwave or in a pan of hot water - although many prefer the creamy nature of this honey.
