Hodmedod’s spelt is organically grown in the heart of Wiltshire by Rushall Organics. Grown for over 5,000 years, spelt is truly an ancient grain. These whole grains have an earthy and nutty flavour, ideal for milling into your own flour or a great alternative or substitute for rice or barley in soups, casseroles and risotto.
Instructions: Mill the grains directly in a grain mill or for alternative uses, rinse, bring to the boil, then simmer until tender (about 45 minutes). Speed up cooking by pre-soaking for a few hours. Add cooked or, if cooking time allows, dry grains for salads, stews and casseroles.
Ingredients and allergens: Organic spelt wheat grain (gluten), for allergens see ingredients in bold.
