We are a small sourdough bakery, patisserie and cafe based in the Antiques Quarter in Sheffield. We love slow food, the fact that everything is made from scratch on site and that because we are a predominantly retail bakery we get to speak to the customers who enjoy our bread daily.

Job Description:

Starting early May

We are looking for someone to join our small bakery team, working full time on a permanent basis you will ideally have had previous professional experience in a similar artisan bakery. Baking is both a science and an art, you will need a great deal of precision, an eye for detail and plenty of creativity. You will help to develop seasonal specials, products for events and run stalls at local markets.

Previous experience with sourdough and other long fermented breads is definitely preferred as our range is nearly exclusively sourdough. We also produce a large range of viennoiserie and yeasted sweet doughs for which our bakers share prep work with our pastry chefs.

Our bakers start between 5am and 7am most days and work some solo shifts. You must be able to learn fast, ask lots of questions, work independently and manage your own time and tasks well. Stock ordering, cleaning, production planning and heavy lifting are also a part of the role.
