Artisan Baker for Sussex Bread Company


Sussex Bread Company, an award-winning, artisan gluten-free bakery/café based in Worthing, is looking for a pastry chef and an artisan baker with a passion and a commitment to baking and pastry to join our core team, to bake early mornings/day and evenings.  Both positions will work with pastry and with bread from time to time, but each will focus in their fields of expertise.

 

Description:

You will be responsible for meeting daily and expanding wholesale, online retail and in-cafe orders in savoury and sweet baked goods range. Must have strong experience in pastry, artisan bread making, or gluten-free food preparation, good attention to detail and pride in your work.  A self-starter with good problem solving skills is essential.  Experience in gluten free baking is desirable but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new, growing business.

 

Contract

Expected hours
  • 36-40 per week
 
Qualifications Required   
  • Permited to work in the UK
  • Given that gluten free baking is very specialised we will consider the individual career qualifications of each candidate on their merits, however you must have a minimum food hygiene qualification.  Ideally you will have 3 years industry experience or greater.

Remuneration
