Artisan Baker for Toast Rack


Toast Rack is a new artisan bakery and coffee shop opening in April 2015.

 

Description: 

  • This is a pivotal role for the bakery and the salary will reflect this. Toast Rack will have a strong emphasis on a handmade and artisan menu and the ideal candidate will have a high level of skill in sourdough and artisan bread products and pastries. A flair for making cakes and preserves is desirable but not essential. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to be a part of building a new business where hard work and dedication will be rewarded.

Expected hours
  • Full time. Hours to be agreed.
 
Qualifications Required   
  • Experience as an artisan baker (references required)
  • Fluency in English
  • Level 2 UK Hygiene Certificate
  • Permitted to work in the UK (a valid EU work permit or ID is required)
 

Personal Qualities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the preparation, baking and finishing of all bread, breakfast bakeries and other specified baked goods to high quality standards and specifications;
  • Be an experienced Artisan Baker who can mix, hand-mould and bake bread;
  • Pro-actively input to development of the bakery and business;
  • Be highly organised and dedicated;
  • Be knowledgeable about artisan techniques, sourdough and long fermentation methods;
  • Have worked in an Artisan Bakery in the past and have a proven history of high quality craft baking (references will be required);
  • Be passionate about great bread, looking for challenges, sociable and eco-responsible, able to work well alone or in a group.

 

Remuneration 

  • Salary dependent on skills and experience
