Summary: We are looking for a full time bread baker to join our small and friendly team at Holtwhites Bakery (Enfield, North London). Our award-winning artisan loaves are made from scratch using high quality ingredients and traditional baking methods: sourdough, French, Italian and British doughs.

Job Description: Responsibilities include:
• Work with baking team to produce full range of breads
• Accurate mixing, scaling and baking
• Quality control; notify Head Baker/Shift Supervisor of any quality issues
• Ensure that ingredients and baked goods are correctly stored, labelled and rotated
• Minimise waste (e.g. ingredients, staff time, electricity etc)
• Contribute to development of new recipes and methods
• Keep work area clean and tidy
• Follow good food safety & hygiene practices at all times

Contract: Permanent

Expected Hours: Our bakers usually work 5 nights a week from 9pm to 6am, with two consecutive days off.

Personal Qualities: Skills/experience required:

• Competent baker, confident with handling dough, enjoys the baking process
• Understanding of sourdough methods is essential
• High quality standards; good attention to detail
• Drive to help develop new/improved recipes and to learn new techniques
• Organised & efficient
• Good stamina and resilience
• Well presented: clean and appropriately dressed
• Understands and follows good food safety & hygiene practices
• Reliable & punctual
• Excellent communication with employer and with colleagues
• Good team work

Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene for Catering certificate

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (grade C or above)
