Our bakery team bake fresh bread and cakes 7 days a week so if you are shopping in the morning you will find the bread is still warm. Hazel leads a team of passionate bakers who start at 3.30am to make sure we have fresh bread every day. The make a fantastic variety of cakes including our multi-award winning Victoria Sponge. Our bakers are always innovating and experimenting so you will find at least one seasonal special or you can try our bread of the week. Our sour dough is made with a 21 year old mother dough which gives it a truly unique flavour that you have to try. In the autumn of 2014 we are installing a brand new bakery counter which will include an area for fresh cream cakes and patisserie.



  • We are looking for extremely passionate Bakers to work with our Bakery team, baking real artisan bread, cakes and patisserie and ensure they are the very best they can be day in day out. Working hours will be early mornings starting at 3.30am so own transport is essential, working every other weekend and covering other shifts where necessary. We have full and part time positions available.

    Reporting to the Head Baker your primary responsibility will be to ensure the daily bakery range is made to high standard in a timely, safe and consistent manner. As a Baker you will also assist with stock control, kitchen hygiene, and new product development.

    You will have tremendous amounts of passion and enthusiasm for baking and patisserie, as well as a strong core food knowledge. This role would be ideally suited to someone who wants to learn the industry as an apprentice or develop their skills. You will be willing to learn and absorb as much as possible about this highly skilled area. Full training will be given, so this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to create a career for themselves in artisan baking. We also offer professional training on site.

    You must also be able to work under pressure and have a commitment to delivering high standards.
