Summary: Arras was established in Sydney, Australia in 2007 by Adam and Lovaine Humphrey. The restaurant grew and received critical acclaim, and in 2011 Arras Too, our offshoot hole-in-the-wall bakery was added specialising in handmade sourdough.
We returned to York in 2015 and reopened Arras Restaurant. We are now opening a purpose built retail bakery, Little Arras, in the centre of York and we are looking to build our opening team.
We want to bring our range of slow-fermented, hand crafted breads and pastries to the people of York. We will use our 12 year old sourdough starter with a range of traditional and modern methods to produce exceptional quality breads, pastries and confections.

Job Description: We are looking for both senior and junior bakers to help produce a range of sourdough doughs, artisan breads, baguettes, pastries and finish our range confections.
The majority of items will be produced for Little Arras with a select few Wholesale clients making up the remainder.
There is a significant amount of hand shaping and oven work undertaken, along with viennoisserie, so being supremely organised and a good all-rounder is essential.
The ideal candidates will:
Be extremely organised and able to work at a fast pace
Be able to work in a team and also autonomously
Follow appropriate Hygiene and Health and Safety procedures
Be able to follow recipes and aid in the development of new ones
