Come and join us on the Isle of Bute for a fun bread making day. You'll find the experience surprisingly easy and very therapeutic. Nothing beats the taste (and smell) of freshly baked bread. We’ll show you how to produce a classic white & wholemeal loaf, Scottish soda bread and focaccia breads and lovely pizzas.

We teach the course in our large, well equipped kitchen using domestic equipment and the maximum number on any course will be 6. All our baking is done in our domestic double-oven range cooker – we don’t use any equipment that you can’t get hold of at home.

Our course runs from 11:30am-4.30pm (ish) and covers :

The theory of using a sour dough starter to make bread (because of time constraints we actually use dried yeast on this course, but we thought you'd like to see a sourdough starter)

Yeast based bread making using both white and wholemeal flours

Soda bread – one of the quickest and tastiest breads to make.

Making a pizza base – we’ll add some great toppings and bake and eat the pizzas
