We run a rolling programme of 4 hour and 6 hour artisan bread making classes at 3 venues around the Manchester area.
The 6 hour course, covers everything from the science to the history & the politics, via the skills and the recipes. Learn about the way gluten works, yeast fermentation and reproduction, autolysis, kneading, proving and shaping, and all about the baker’s ‘kit’. You will make your own 2lb wholemeal loaf, focaccia and rye bread, and be introduced to the wonderful world of sourdough. You’ll enjoy a lunch of salad and pizza made from scratch during the morning & at the end of the day, you will go home with all your bread, your sourdough starter, our 26-page full colour booklet and the confidence and lasting skills to launch yourself into a lifetime of successful home bread baking!
The ever-popular 4 hour course is brilliant value for money and covers all the basics (above) but in less time. You’ll master how to make the perfect 100% organic loaf, delicious garlic naan breads, and aromatic stuffed focaccia. Lunch is also provided. You’ll go home with all your bread, the recipes to make it all again at home and the skills and confidence to keep baking delicious real bread!
