German bread artisan trainee for German Bakery


The German Bakery of Windsor is the only authentic Artisan bakery nestled in the heart of Windsor just a few minutes from the Castle.  We pride ourselves on producing exceptional hand-crafted breads.

We are looking for that special someone with lots of passion and a keen eye for detail to join our esteemed bakery team. This is a very rare opportunity for a baker looking to further their experience in the Germanic artisan industry.

Description:


The main duty in this position is to assist the German Master baker in all aspects of the preparation and production of breads.

  • Mix, hand shape and bake bread according to the Master Baker recipes and learn new techniques and methods where appropriate.
  • Be well organised throughout the production process, maintaining a clean and tidy work area and work to the specified production schedule.
  • Help manage stock levels and rotation of stock. i.e. ensuring deliveries are checked and stored appropriately and informing production manager of stock shortages and any stock issues as well as taking a monthly stock level.

A previous catering background is essential.
Ideally, have some experience of a range of sourdoughs and long fermentation breads but not necessary.

 

Contract

  • Permanent. Expected hours 45 hours per week (you must be able to work some weekends and some bank holidays)
