The Bertinet Kitchen


The Bertinet Kitchen is owned and run by French baker, chef and BBC Food Champion, Richard Bertinet. Richard has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and has been teaching for the last 10 years. He has published 4 books including Dough which won the IACP Book of the Year, the Julia Child Award and the Guild of Food Writers Jeremy Round Award both for best first book. His bakery is based in Bath and supplies top hotels, restaurants and food stores in the South West as well as 15 branches of Waitrose. The school offers one-day bread-making classes and longer 2, 3 and 5 day bread making courses for both amateurs and professionals alike with modules in French breads, Italian breads and Sourdoughs. The school also offers a range of other baking classes including Croissant and Viennoiserie, Pastry, Patisserie and cake making and decorating. A range of advanced patisserie classes with Yolande Stanley, MCA launched in 2011. The cookery school won the 2008-9 South West Tourism award for the Best Tourism Experience and was named Best Specialist Cookery School at the British Cookery School awards in 2013. Consultancy including for product development, brigade training and start-ups is available on request.
