The School of Artisan Food


We are passionate about real bread, long fermentations, regional varieties and sticky dough. There's something unexplainably satisfying about making good bread. If you're an amateur enthusiast or an award-winning baker then there's a course for you; from one-day introductory classes to professional workshops, as well as a one-year full-time Advanced Diploma qualification. The School of Artisan Food is the UK's only not-for-profit school dedicated to traditional hand-made food production methods. Based in the heart of Sherwood Forest on the historic Welbeck Estate, students from around the world have been enrolling at the School, ever since it opened in 2009, to learn the skills and techniques of artisan bread making.
