The Mini RayTemp Infrared Thermometer is a compact, lightweight non-contact thermometer for checking surface temperatures quickly and easily. Simply aim, pull the trigger and read the temperature on the backlit LCD display.
For bakers, it is especially useful for checking the surface temperature of baking stones, baking steels, griddles, pans, oven floors and pizza ovens before loading dough. It measures from -50 to 330°C, making it useful for everyday baking, dough work and kitchen temperature checks.
The laser-assisted aiming helps you target the area being measured, while the 12:1 distance-to-target ratio means the measured area increases as you move further away. For example, at 60cm from the target, the measurement area is about 5cm across.
Please note that infrared thermometers measure surface temperature only. For checking the internal temperature of bread, enriched doughs or cakes, use a probe thermometer instead. Infrared thermometers are also not recommended for shiny or polished metal surfaces, which can give unreliable readings.
