Handmade Black Walnut Lame (Left-Handed)

Beautiful lame, handmade from walnut for the keen baker looking for the very best. Lames are for slashing the dough before it goes into the oven to control the way the dough expands while baking and to allow it to stretch while leaving an attractive pattern. (Left-handed version).

The black walnut handle features knurled brass thumb-nuts for easy blade replacement. As they are made from the best walnut by craftsmen, each lame is unique with slight variation in the grain and precise shape. They are designed for left-handed use (the nut will catch the dough if used right-handed). Each lame comes in its own box complete with 5 spare blades.
