Redbournbury Mill

Redbournbury Mill produces a range of organic stoneground flours milled from locally grown grain whenever possible. The mill produces approximately 50 tonnes per year of organic wheat flours, rye flour and spelt flour. Redbournbury mill is an eighteenth century watermill built on the site of an earlier Domesday mill. The mill is situated 2 miles north of St Albans on the banks of the river Ver. Almost destroyed by fire in 1987, the mill has been restored to full working order by the owners together with a wonderful team of volunteers. Today it includes a bakery producing fine artisan breads - with the grain produced just down the road, theirs really is crop-to-crust just as it used to be.
